VETERANS ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY OF LAW, HUE UNIVERSITY ORGANIZES COMMEMORATIVE ACTIVITIES AND SPORTS TOURNAMENT TO CELEBRATE THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE VIETNAM PEOPLE'S ARMY AND THE ALL-PEOPLE'S NATIONAL DEFENSE DAY
Update day: 19-12-2025In celebration of the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2025) and the 36th anniversary of the All-People's National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 – December 22, 2025), on the afternoon of December 19, 2025, the Veterans Association of the University of Law, Hue University, organized a floral tribute and incense-offering ceremony to commemorate heroic martyrs at the Hue City Martyrs' Cemetery, followed by a sports tournament.
The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Luong, Rector of the University; Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Chairman of the University Council; M.A. Nguyen Trung Kien, Chairman of the University's Veterans Association; along with representatives from various departments, the Youth Union, and all members of the University's Veterans Association. In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates respectfully offered incense and flowers, expressing their profound gratitude for the heroic sacrifices made by the martyrs for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the People.
On the same afternoon, the University's Veterans Association, in collaboration with the Trade Union and the Sports Association, organized the 2025 Volleyball Tournament for the Veterans Association, Sports Association, and Trade Union of the University of Law, Hue University. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and Practice and former Vice Rector; M.A. Nguyen Trung Kien, Chairman of the University's Veterans Association; M.A. Nguyen Van Kiem, former Chairman of the University's Veterans Association; as well as leaders of various departments and the participating athletes.

The tournament attracted four competing teams: Faculty 1, Faculty 2, Administration, and the Veterans. The teams were divided into two groups, competing in a round-robin stage to select qualifiers for the ranking matches and the final.
Through the volleyball tournament, the Organizing Committee aimed to create a healthy sporting environment, enhancing exchange, solidarity, and physical fitness among faculty members, staff, workers, and members of the Veterans Association. At the same time, the event highlighted the active role and contributions of veterans in the cause of education and the overall development of the University. In the final results, the Veterans team clinched First Place; Faculty 2 took Second Place; the Administration team earned Third Place; and Faculty 1 received the Consolation Prize.



Immediately following the award ceremony, the Organizing Committee hosted a seminar and networking session to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2025) and the 36th anniversary of the All-People's National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 – December 22, 2025). The gathering served as an opportunity to review the glorious traditions of our military and people.
