On the morning of September 5, 2025, joining the jubilant atmosphere of the nationwide school opening day, faculty members and students of the University of Law, Hue University participated in the Opening Ceremony of the 2025–2026 academic year. The event was broadcast live on Vietnam Television, together with millions of students across the country. Taking place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education (1945-2025), this year’s opening ceremony carried profound significance as all educational institutions nationwide celebrated the beginning of the new academic year simultaneously.

During the ceremony, the entire staff, lecturers, and students of the University solemnly observed the flag-raising ritual and turned to the big screen to listen to the drumbeats from Hanoi — the sound signaling the start of a new school year. In this solemn moment, the University of Law, Hue University proudly received the congratulatory letter for the new academic year from General Secretary Tô Lâm. His letter conveyed trust, high expectations, and heartfelt encouragement to the education sector, inspiring young generations to study, innovate, and contribute to the country’s development.

Immediately after the nationwide live broadcast, the University of Law, Hue University held its own Opening Ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year.

In attendance were leaders of Hue University and affiliated offices, including Dr. Trần Đăng Huy, Head of the Personnel and Organization Department; MSc. Võ Trần Ngọc Minh, Deputy Head of the Party Committee Office, University Council, and Unions; MSc. Võ Thị Hồng Vũ, Director of the Student Services Center; and Mr. Nguyễn Xuân Thiện, Deputy Director of the National Defense and Security Education Center.

Representatives from Hue City Police included Mr. Võ Tiến Thảo, Head of PA01 Division; and Mr. Ngô Thanh Bình, Head of PA03 Division on Internal Political Security.

Leaders of An Cựu Ward also attended, including Ms. Hoàng Thị Như Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Ward Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Committee; and Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Phước, Head of An Cựu Ward Police.

Representatives of sponsoring units were present as well, including MSc. Nguyễn Hoàng Long, Head of the Central–Central Highlands Representative Office of Bảo vệ Pháp luật Newspaper; Ms. Lê Trần Thảo Nguyên, Deputy Head of Science and Technology Department, BIDV Hue Branch; Mr. Trần Cao Vĩnh Ngọc, Deputy Director of SHB Hue Branch; Mr. Trần Đình Khoái, Deputy Director of Agribank Hue Branch; Mr. Trương Hoàng Linh, Deputy Head of Corporate Client Department, VietinBank Hue Branch; and Mr. Ngô Văn Quang, Director of An Đông Transaction Office, BIDV Phú Xuân Branch.

On the side of the University of Law, Hue University, attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đoàn Đức Lương, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Duy Phương, Vice Rector; along with members of the Party Committee, University Council, leaders of affiliated units, academic advisors of Cohort 49, and nearly 1,000 students representing more than 5,000 full-time students of the University.

In his address, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đoàn Đức Lương, Rector of the University, emphasized the significance of this academic year in the context of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Ministry of National Education. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to innovation, creativity, and student-centered development, with a steadfast goal of improving training quality and building the University of Law, Hue University into a prestigious center for legal education in the region and beyond.

Entering the new academic year, the University proudly welcomed over 1,500 new freshmen from diverse regions of the country. Among them, valedictorian Đậu Nguyễn Thái Bình - who achieved the fourth-highest entrance score nationwide - was awarded a certificate of merit and a scholarship worth 30 million VND. Salutatorian Hoàng Công Quý also received a certificate of merit along with a 20-million-VND scholarship. In addition, the University honored 69 outstanding students for their achievements during the 2024-2025 academic year.

Alongside the University’s recognition, many partners contributed meaningful scholarships: Bảo vệ Pháp luật Newspaper’s Central-Central Highlands Representative Office awarded 10 million VND to the valedictorian; BIDV Hue Branch awarded 20 million VND; SHB Hue Branch awarded 20 million VND; BIDV Phú Xuân Branch contributed 15 million VND; VietinBank Hue Branch awarded 10 million VND; and Agribank Hue Branch sponsored 20 million VND. These scholarships not only encourage academic excellence but also provide practical support for students on their educational journey.

With 68 years of history, including 10 years as an independent institution, the University of Law, Hue University has become one of Vietnam’s leading centers for legal education and research. The University has affirmed its reputation in the national higher education system while steadily advancing international integration. Notably, in 2024, the field of Law was ranked in the 601+ group for Social Sciences; Business & Economics in Asia by Times Higher Education (THE)— a remarkable achievement reflecting the University’s continuous efforts to innovate and improve training quality, while affirming its growing prestige on the regional education map.

The Opening Ceremony of the 2025-2026 academic year concluded in a solemn yet vibrant atmosphere, resonating with the nationwide spirit while leaving a distinctive mark for the University of Law, Hue University - a promising beginning to a new academic year full of determination and aspiration.
