5th "Creative Student and Intellectual Property Rights" Competition - 2025
Update day: 25-05-2025On May 24, 2025, the University of Law, Hue University, in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Office’s representative office in Da Nang and Tilleke & Gibbins Law Firm (Vietnam), organized the 5th " Creative Student and Intellectual Property Rights" competition under the theme "Protection and Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights."
Attending the program from agencies, units, and organizations based in and outside Hue City were Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Deputy Director of the Hue City Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Le Duy Luong, Head of the representative office of the Intellectual Property and Innovation Magazine for the Central Region in Da Nang City; Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, from the representative office of the Intellectual Property Office in Da Nang City; Lawyer Le Van Lap, Member of the Executive Committee of the Hue City Bar Association; MA. Lawyer Le Cao, Director of FDVN Law Firm; MA. Lawyer Pham Ngoc Hai, Director of AMI Law Firm.
Representing Hue University was Dr. Pham Chi Bao, Deputy Head of the Science, Technology and International Relations Department, Hue University.

Attending the ceremony from the University of Law, Hue University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Luong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Law, Hue University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University; leaders of affiliated units, lecturers, and especially more than 600 students who were members of the competing teams and supporters, creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere from the very beginning of the program.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong emphasized, "Following the success of the previous four seasons, this year's event continues to be a meaningful playground, contributing to raising awareness and promoting the creative spirit among young people regarding intellectual property rights, a field that plays an increasingly important role in economic, cultural, and scientific-technological development."
This year's competition attracted the participation of 09 teams from universities across the country, including: University of Law, Hue University; Can Tho University; Ho Chi Minh City Open University; University of Economics - Da Nang University; Duy Tan University; Da Lat University; Vinh University; Da Nang University of Architecture; and Van Lang University.
The teams competed in 3 parts: general knowledge, practical connection, and student creativity. The competition content revolved around knowledge groups concerning the Law on Intellectual Property 2005, amended and supplemented in 2009, 2019, 2022; Decree 17/2023/ND-CP; Decree 65/2023/ND-CP and Circular 23/2023/TT-BKHCN.
Shining among many strong contenders, the NEXT STEP team from the University of Law, Hue University, excellently conquered the Champion title, thanks to a persuasive presentation that harmoniously combined in-depth knowledge and breakthrough creativity. The Second Prize belonged to the TRI TUE team - Vinh University; the Third Prize went to the ASTRA team - Faculty of Law, University of Economics, Da Nang University and the IN POWER team - Faculty of Law, School of Languages - Humanities and Social Sciences, Duy Tan University.
Consolation Prizes were awarded to the TEAM KIEN TRUC - Da Nang University of Architecture; PMN team - Ho Chi Minh City Open University; HO VE BAN QUYEN team - Faculty of Law, Da Lat University; TRI TUE CUU LONG team - Faculty of Law, Can Tho University and VLU GENOVATE team - Faculty of Law, Van Lang University.
According to the judges' assessment, this year's teams were well-prepared, demonstrating a deep understanding of intellectual property rights and the ability to creatively apply the law in practice. In particular, the "Practical Connection" and "Student Creativity" sections were the highlights of the contest. The teams delivered elaborate, witty, emotional, and highly educational performances, taking the audience through many emotional levels, from humorous and thrilling to contemplative and overwhelming.
In addition to the main prizes, the Organizing Committee also awarded many attractive supplementary prizes: Most Popular Team Award : NEXT STEP team – University of Law, Hue University; Best Costume Award: IN POWER team – Faculty of Law, School of Languages - Humanities and Social Sciences, Duy Tan University; Most Impressive Team Award: TEAM KIEN TRUC – Da Nang University of Architecture; Best Individual Award: Nguyen Van Phu Huu – TRI TUE team, Vinh University.
More than just an academic competition, "Creative Student and Intellectual Property Rights" is also an opportunity for students to demonstrate their bravery, critical thinking, and healthy competitive spirit. Thereby, it contributes to spreading awareness about intellectual property protection in the community, building a civilized, dynamic young generation ready to contribute to the country's development.
